What this pack is

This is a stand-up pouch built for liquid fabric softener and laundry detergent. The structure is PET/NY/RCPP at 120 micron, and every layer has a job. PET gives the outer surface stiffness and clean print reception. NY, a nylon core, adds puncture and flex-crack resistance, which matters when a filled pouch is handled, shipped and squeezed. RCPP is the product-contact sealant layer: it resists the surfactants, perfumes and alcohols found in softener formulas, and it accepts a spout weld without pulling apart.

The 120 micron gauge is a starting point. Thickness, dimensions and material combination can all be adjusted to suit fill weight, concentrate strength and the shelf life you need. A heavier sealant layer improves drop performance; a thicker nylon core helps where pouches are packed tight in transit. If your formula is aggressive or your target shelf life is long, the film build is where that gets solved.

Cap, base and corner details

The spout carries an anti-disassembly bottle cap. Once the cap is tightened, the pouch can be stored upside down without leaking, so the product sits ready at the spout and pours without shaking. The cap design resists being taken apart, which reduces tampering and accidental spills in the home.

The four corners are rounded rather than square. That is a handling decision: sharp corners catch on cartons, scratch adjacent packs and are uncomfortable to grip. Rounded corners soften the silhouette and cut down on corner damage during transport.

The self-supporting bottom is widened. A broader base gives the pouch a three-dimensional stance, so it stands on shelf without leaning or tipping, even as the fill level drops. It also presents the front panel more squarely to the shopper.

Printing is high definition. Fine type, gradients and photographic imagery come out clear, which lifts the pack above a plain commodity look and helps a private-label or branded line hold its own on a crowded detergent shelf.

Where it is used

The pouch is designed around liquid fabric softener and laundry detergent. It suits concentrated softeners, standard dilutions, scent-boosted variants and detergent gels. Typical fills run from small trial sizes up to family refill formats; the exact fill weight is set by the pouch dimensions and the density of your formula.

Because the pack stands and pours, it also works for related household liquids such as stain removers, fabric refreshers and dish liquids where the same barrier and sealant performance is acceptable.

Filling, sealing and the material trade-off

Spout pouches are filled through the spout on a spout-fitment line, then the cap is applied and torqued. The seal between spout and film is the critical point: it must be clean and consistent, because a weak weld leaks under pressure. RCPP is chosen for this reason, but fill temperature, spout flange design and sealing dwell all need to be set for your line.

The honest trade-off is recyclability. PET/NY/RCPP is a multi-material laminate with strong barrier and mechanical performance, but it is not a mono-material stream. If recyclability is a priority, mono-material PE or PP structures can be discussed, though they usually give up some oxygen and aroma barrier or stiffness. The right choice depends on whether you are protecting a fragrance-heavy softener for two years or a fast-turn refill.
