What this pack is

This is a stand-up pouch built for fruit purees and other organic baby food. The construction is opp/pet aluminum/pe at 140 micron, a laminate that combines an outer opp layer for print quality and scuff resistance, a pet layer for stiffness, an aluminum foil core for light, oxygen and moisture barrier, and an inner pe layer for heat sealing and food contact. The aluminum foil is the main barrier against oxygen and light, which are the two factors most likely to degrade purees, causing colour fade or flavour loss. The pouch stands on a widened bottom gusset, so it holds its shape on shelf and stays upright during filling. Thickness is customizable if you need a stiffer or lighter structure.

Features that matter on the line

The spout is fitted with an anti-disassembly cap. That means the cap cannot be easily removed by hand, so the pouch can be carried upside down without leaking. For a parent squeezing puree directly into a spoon, that is the difference between a clean feed and a mess. The four corners are rounded rather than square. This removes sharp points that could scratch a child or snag on other packs in a retail carton. The widened self-supporting bottom gives the pouch a three-dimensional shape, so it displays well and resists tipping. Printing is high-definition digital, which keeps fine detail and small text legible on the finished pack.

Where it is used

This pouch suits organic fruit purees, vegetable blends, yogurt drops and other spoonable baby foods. It also works for toddler snacks that need a resealable spout, and for contract manufacturers filling under 200 g portions. The spout format is common for 90 g to 150 g single-serve purees, where the pouch is squeezed directly into a bowl or spoon. Because the structure includes aluminum foil, it is not see-through; if you need product visibility, a clear window or a different laminate would be required. The pack is also used for travel sachets and sample sizes where a leak-resistant cap is important.

Filling, sealing and handling

Spout pouches are filled through the spout on a form-fill-seal line, then the cap is applied and torqued. The 140-micron laminate runs on standard spout-pouch fillers, but you should confirm the sealing jaws and spout fitment match your machine. The aluminum foil layer gives a strong barrier but makes the pouch opaque and slightly stiffer than a clear mono-material PE structure. If recyclability is a priority, a mono-material PE or PP option is available, though it will not match foil for oxygen and light barrier. For organic baby food, the foil barrier is usually the safer choice. Lead time for digital print runs is 10-15 working days after artwork approval; rotogravure runs take 20-25 working days.
