This is a custom printed stand-up pouch built from a three-layer laminate: a matte film outer layer, a pure aluminum middle layer, and a PE inner layer. The 140 micron thickness is a heavy gauge for a pouch of this type, which gives the bag a stiff, substantial feel and helps it hold its shape on shelf. The aluminum layer is the barrier component. It blocks light and slows moisture and oxygen transmission, which is what protects flavour and texture in products that go stale or clump when exposed to air.

The matte film outer layer takes print well and produces a low-glare surface, so colours read clearly without the shine of a gloss laminate. The PE inner layer is the food-contact layer and provides the heat-seal surface. All three layers are laminated together, so the bag behaves as a single structure when filled and sealed.

Features and construction details

The bag has a flat, self-supporting bottom that lets it stand upright without support. This increases the usable volume and makes the pack stable on a shelf or counter. The top edge is flat and clean, which suits standard heat-sealing equipment. A U-shaped tear notch is cut into the edge, so the user can open the bag by hand without scissors. The notch is positioned to tear cleanly across the top.

Printing is fully customizable. The matte surface holds bright, clear patterns with good colour density and a textured look rather than a flat, plastic shine. Because the aluminum layer is opaque, the print sits on a solid background, so colours do not shift depending on what is inside the bag. The structure is food-grade throughout, which is the baseline requirement for direct candy, coffee and snack contact.

Where it is used

The factory lists this pouch for candy bags, coffee bags and snack bags. The barrier and stiffness suit dry, shelf-stable goods: hard candy, gummies, cotton candy, roasted coffee beans or ground coffee, nuts, dried fruit, trail mix, and similar snacks. The self-supporting base and flat top make it work for retail display as well as for bulk or multi-serve formats. Because the size is customizable, the same structure can be run as a small single-serve bag or a larger sharing bag without changing the material build.

Filling, sealing and handling

The pouch is filled from the top and sealed with a standard heat sealer. The flat top edge and PE inner layer are designed for consistent seal pressure and temperature. The 140 micron gauge is stiff, so the bag needs enough headspace for the fill volume and a clean seal area free of product. The aluminum layer makes the bag opaque and slightly less flexible than a clear or mono-material PE pouch, which is the trade-off for the light and moisture barrier. If recyclability is the priority, a mono-material PE or PP structure is available; if maximum shelf life is the priority, the aluminum laminate is the stronger choice. Lead times depend on the print method: digital print runs typically ship in 10–15 working days after artwork approval, while rotogravure runs take 20–25 working days. Minimum order quantities start from 100 pieces for digital printed pouches and from 10,000 pieces for rotogravure.
